Volunteering

The Minster is sustained in its many roles by teams of volunteers and we are always keen to recruit more. It is our policy to support our volunteers with training appropriate to their role, especially if learning new skills will widen their life opportunities.

Opportunities exist for volunteers as:

• Assistants in the coffee and gift shops
• Minster tour guides
• ‘Activators’ to help with school visits and other activities for children and young people (CRB clearance essential in this role)
• Research assistants to help with cataloguing historic parish records
• Stewards for front of house duties at concerts and recitals
• Flower arrangers
• Bell ringers
